Areas of activity of the Institute of Neurosurgery:
● diagnosis and treatment of adults and children with pathology of the nervous system
- tumors of the brain and spinal cord, peripheral nerves
– pathology of the vessels of the neck, brain and spinal cord (aneurysm, malformation, stroke)
- acute craniocerebral and spinal cord injury, peripheral nerve injury and the consequences of such injuries
– functional disorders of the nervous system (parkinsonism, epilepsy)
– degenerative-dystrophic diseases of the spine (including herniated discs)
- pain syndromes
● research work
– search for new and improvement of existing methods for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the nervous system
● organizational and methodological activities
– organization of scientific and practical conferences, seminars, meetings of neurosurgeons
– publication of information and methodological materials on the introduction of innovations
● training
– on the basis of the institute there are clinical residency, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies and monothematic courses of information and internships
– the institute has a specialized Academic Council D 26.557.01 for the defense of dissertations in the specialty "neurosurgery"
– at the institute, specialized academic councils are formed to conduct a one-time defense of a dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy
